Eithne Nic an Ríogh

Eithne is a second year pupil at the Sacred Heart School, Drogheda. She studies cello with Aisling Drury Byrne at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she is a scholarship student since 2001. Eithne won first prize for Cello Under 13 at the 2007 Feis Ceoil. She also won the 2007 Mary-Pyle Cup at the Dublin Cello Festival.

Eithne also plays piano and her teacher is Edward Holly. She is also a Feis Ceoil prize winner for piano. She won the Horseman Cup in the 2007 Arklow Music Festival.

Eithne was the recipient of the 2006 Louth County Council Music Bursary and in 2007 she won the Daniel O'Connell and Son Classical Music Award.

Eithne plays cello with the Royal Irish Academy of Music Intermediate Orchestra. She also sings with the Royal Irish Academy of Music Intermediate Choir.

Áine Nic an Ríogh

Áine began violin lessons at the age of four, learning by the Suzuki Method with Dorothy Conaghan. Later she studied with Brian McNamara in Dublin. Áine has played violin with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland for six seasons and she now plays with the U.C.D. Sinfonia. She toured with L'Orchestre Francais des Jeunes for their 2005 season.

Áine also plays piano and is studying with Edward Holly who has taught her since she was seven years old. In 2005 she received her Diploma in Piano Teaching.

 

 

Áine received a scholarship to study Architecture in University College Dublin and is now a fourth year student there.

 

Aisling Nic an Ríogh

Aisling is a second year student in University College Dublin where she is studying medicine.

She studies piano with Edward Holly and had her first lesson when she was seven years old. Aisling also plays violin and is a member of The National Youth Orchestra of Ireland. She is the leader of the U.C.D. Sinfonia and was awarded an orchestral music scholarship in 2006 and in 2007. Aisling loves orchestral music and is an avid concert-goer.
