St. Peters Male Voice Choir, Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland.
The launch of the St. Peters Male Voice Choir new Christmas CD “ So This Is Christmas” was a fantastic success. With an audience of over 400 present it was a wonderful occasion. Special thanks to our presenter Deirdre Purcell of Lyric FM and the CD's producer Brian Masterson for their kind words.
The CD can be purchased from this site via PayPal on the Music Page or by Cheque or money order on the Contact Page.
The choir celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2006 by touring New York City, where it performed a Sacred Music Recital to a capacity audience in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and made history when it became the first Irish choir to give a concert at the United Nations. Other major highlights include a recital in St. Bavo’s Cathedral, Ghent, Belgium and a Signature Series performance with internationally acclaimed singer and BBC Television presenter Aled Jones with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall, Dublin in September 2009. On reviewing St. Peter’s Male Voice Choir’s Irish Premiere of J.M. Martin’s The Awakening, Irish Independent critic Pat O’ Kelly said “they respond to its spiritual character with exhilarating dramatic commitment”.
The choirs highly successful début CD, The Awakening, increased not only the ensemble's exposure, but gave music lovers everywhere the opportunity to savour the sound of an Irish male voice choir. This album is still selling successfully as a download.
The choir has broadcast live on RTÉ Radio One on The Pat Kenny Show and the Joe Duffy Liveline Christmas Special. For the past two years the acclaimed live concerts have been broadcast on LMFM on Christmas Day.
